A window of opportunity!

The weather is warming up for us and while we would love to stay and visit with Owen (and his mom and dad too) for longer, we have to get back on the road tomorrow. We want to avoid snow in the 3 mountain passes we have to drive through next. It’s looking good for us tomorrow at +7C so we’re going to make a run for it!

Today we took a drive in Jerry up to Kimberley, B.C. It was a beautiful sunny day and while its just a little town, it was still nice to walk the “Platzl”, pedestrian mall. We had visited the small plaza last year when Jon and Christal were married at the local Kimberley Alpine Resort and really enjoyed the baked goods from a local baker. Unfortunately the bakery is now closed permanently...so no fresh baked goods for us today!

The drive from Kimberley to Cranbrook and Fort Steele is stunning! With the Rocky Mountain range on one side of the road, and the Purcell Mountains on the other side it really is hard to know where to look. The view is really stunning! And the golf! The golf here is a Mecca for golfers. Between Cranbrook and Kimberley there are so many good golf courses! We will have to come back for another visit and bring our golf clubs!
